We know what you're thinking: the focus is 100 percent on winning another national championship for the Ohio State football team and nothing else. However, with all the coaching changes arriving, rumors are already flying about big-name stars potentially entering the portal in January.
Julian Sayin says what everyone is thinking on Ohio State's incredible season
Could Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman end up being on the list? That could indeed end up happening, as the Tigers have fired Hugh Freeze and Coleman, a former 5-star prospect, very well may end up deciding he wants a change of scenery to continue his college career, especially with the SEC side struggling.
Enter Ohio State? In a piece this week from respected college reporter Chris Hummer, he said that keeping Coleman is going to be priority No. 1 for Auburn's next head coach. However, he also added that it's not going to be easy and his sources added that the Buckeyes could be in play here if he does decide to transfer.
Transfer portal season is quickly approaching, and there is no potentially bigger prize than Auburn WR Cam Coleman.

He's priority No. 1 for Auburn's next coach to retain. But that may be an uphill battle.

If Cam Coleman transfer from Auburn, Ohio State and Ryan could be in the mix
"One industry source even speculated that Coleman could play with (Jeremiah) Smith at Ohio State if Carnell Tate leaves for the NFL or pair up with DJ Lagway and Dallas Wilson at Florida. Oregon, Ole Miss, Georgia, Notre Dame and every other contender would be happy to pay Coleman, too."
Obviously, there are a lot of 'what ifs' here, but could you imagine Coleman and Jeremiah Smith making plays together? Julian Sayin would be in dream land. However, we don't want to jump the gun here, as a lot of things would have to go down for this to be a possibility.
Might Carnell Tate leave early for the NFL Draft? That's something to discuss, as a recent Mock Draft from Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates has him going No. 5 to the New York Giants. With how great Tate has looked in Columbus, he indeed has the NFL written all over him and it could come sooner rather than later.
For now, Campbell, the nation's No. 2 WR for the 2024 class behind Smith, appears to be locked in with Auburn and he's going to have a close eye on who ends up replacing Freeze. We won't know what's in store for his future until this winter, but if he does end up entering the portal, and Tate declares for the draft, the Buckeyes will have no choice but to go all-in for him - assuming his NIL asking price isn't a wild amount Ross Bjork won't even consider.
