Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is still hot on the recruiting trail, even in the thick of the college football season. Day has worked hard to even continue building the Buckeyes' Class of 2026, even with signing day just around the corner.

It seems that Ohio State could be on the trail of yet another committed player with a team that has fired its head coach and is on flip watch. Day has made sure that Ohio State's games have been filled with recruits on visits so that they can see exactly what type of program they could be joining soon.

Even though Ohio State is facing an opponent who is also without a head coach and has struggled this season, Day is hoping to put on a good show for one LSU recruit who is visiting Columbus and thinking about flipping to the Buckeyes.

3-star recruit Darryus McKinley is on flip watch from LSU

LSU fired head coach Brian Kelly just a few weeks ago, and since then, players have de-committed left and right. One LSU commit, three-star defensive lineman Darryus McKinley, is taking an official visit to Columbus this weekend to see Ohio State take on UCLA in a night game in the Horseshoe.

McKinley has been committed to LSU since the beginning of August, but this visit could indicate that he is looking elsewhere for his college career. With a visit with the Buckeyes on his schedule, he is officially being put on flip watch as Day is hoping to add another recruit to the Class of 2026.

The Louisiana native is ranked as the No. 69 defensive lineman in the Class of 2026 and the No. 19 player in the state of Louisiana according to 247Sports Composite.
