The Ohio State football team is undefeated and playing like the best team in the country through the first few weeks of the season. Jeremiah Smith came into the season as the undisputed best player in the country. He's put up some solid numbers, getting 35 catches for 463 yards and six touchdowns in five games.
Smith has been able to put up those solid numbers because of the play of Julian Sayin. Sayin put together a great game against Minnesota to cap off a great first five games of his career. He has 1,313 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. He is completing an astounding 80 percent of his passes.
Those two are two of the best players in all of college football. And yet, one publication doesn't believe that either of them is in the discussion for the Heisman Trophy. On3 may have put out the worst Heisman poll that anyone has all season long.
On3's terrible Heisman poll is devoid of an Ohio State football players
Despite the poll going 10 players deep, not a single player on the poll is a member of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Take a look at the full list of the top 10 below.

They have a Miami defensive lineman on the poll before Jeremiah Smith or Julian Sayin. A defensive lineman! The stupidity of this poll could be the point of it. One has to wonder if this poll was put out to make fans of the Buckeyes mad in order to increase the engagement with their site.
That's the only logical explanation for such a horrible poll. Sayin's stats are much better than Marcel Reed's and Brendan Sorsby's. Also, Smith and Sayin are the best players on the best team. That's usually what this award is about. Not having at least one of them makes no sense.
Sayin and Smith aren't worried about some random poll right now. Instead, they are solely focused on taking down Illinois on the road this weekend. Perhaps another good game against the Illini will warrant an appearance in the next On3 Heisman poll.
