The Ohio State football program has several players preparing for the NFL Draft. Last week, the Buckeyes hosted their annual Pro Day. That was a great opportunity for them to show scouts and executives up close just how good they are. Every draft-eligible Buckeye performed in it.

Some Buckeyes had solid showings just a few weeks after the NFL Combine, including Davison Igbinosun. Igbinosun was much better under Matt Patricia than he was with Jim Knowles coaching him. The number of penalties he was called for plummeted in 2025 compared to 2024.

There was a story floating around for a while that Igbinosun had to wear oven mitts as a training aid to keep him from grabbing receivers. When asked about that, Igbinosun wanted to set the record straight and called out Jim Knowles for making up that story.

Igbinosun called Knowles out on his BS.

"No, that's cap. That's not true. I just started looking around for the football. I don't know who made that up. I think it was Jim Knowles who said that, but that's cap. I've seen that narrative. I came back to change that narrative."

Igbinosun is claiming that he never had to wear oven mitts to prevent him from grabbing receivers in practice. He said he wore normal gloves so he could catch picks. He knew that he had a perception that he had to change in his final collegiate season so that he would be more attractive to NFL GMs.

It certainly worked. Igbinosun was fantastic all year long. He only got called for a couple of penalties after being the most penalized defensive back in college football in 2024. After last season, there is a good chance that Igbinosun could be as high as a second-round pick.

It's weird that Knowles would make up a story that isn't true. Perhaps that's one of the reasons he's now at his third school in three years. Meanwhile, Patricia turned things around for Igbinosun.
