The Ohio State football team has been trying very hard over the last few weeks to flip recruits in the 2026 class. After a lackluster summer on the recruiting trail, the Buckeyes fell behind in the recruiting rankings. They were on pace for the worst-rated recruiting class in the Ryan Day era.

Over the last few weeks, the Ohio State Buckeyes have started to flip some recruits. They have grabbed recruits in the secondary, offensive line, and defensive line from other schools. Now, they have added a recruit at the quarterback position as a player has decided to flip.

Legend Bey, a four-star recruit from Texas, has flipped from Tennessee to Ohio State. While Bey is a quarterback in high school, he has been recruited by Carlos Locklyn as a running back for the Buckeyes. That seems to be where Ohio State wants to use him.

The Buckeyes wanted to get some more depth in the backfield heading into next season, and Bey will give them that. His speed and shiftiness will allow him to transition into the running back position without too much trouble, since he runs all over the field now as a high school player.

Locklyn has done a good job developing running backs and getting the full potential out of them. TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins both had over 1,000 rushing yards last season during the national championship run. Bo Jackson has turned into a solid starter for them this year, too.

With this flip, Ohio State now has the seventh-best recruiting class in the country. They aren't finished getting some recruits, either. They still have a few other guys who they are expecting to flip before Early Signing Day in the beginning part of next month.

The Buckeyes continue to win games, which has translated to wins on the recruiting trail. Expect both kinds of wins to continue over the next few weeks.
