After a season full of ups and downs, the Ohio State Buckeyes were rewarded with an eight seed in March Madness. They will take on ninth-seeded TCU in the first round. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, they sit on the same side of the bracket as Duke. Duke is the top overall seed in the tournament.
Ohio State knew they were going to take on the Horned Frogs on Thursday, which gives the Buckeyes almost a full week of rest since their last game. The only thing they didn't know was the time they would be taking them on. Now, they know they will open the tournament as the first game.
Ohio State basketball vs. TCU tip off time revealed
The Buckeyes will be taking on the Horned Frogs on Thursday in Greenville, South Carolina. This matchup will be the first game of the actual field of 64, as they will be playing at 12:15 on CBS. That means that Ohio State fans will know right away whether or not they can root the team on again on Saturday.
TCU is seen as a slight underdog for this game, which should give fans some confidence. Still, they have better wins over the course of the season than the Buckeyes do. They have wins over Florida, Iowa State, and Texas Tech. All of those teams are top-five seeds in the bracket.
Ohio State has been playing its best basketball of the season in the last couple of weeks. They are getting hot at the right time and came very close to beating TTUN while being shorthanded with injuries. Winning this game would certainly set March Madness off right.
