The Ohio State basketball team came into their game against Minnesota with a bad taste in their mouth. They had lost to Michigan State at home in the Schott in their last game. They wanted to wash that away with a win against a Gophers team that was winless in Big Ten play.

What the Buckeyes did was eerily similar to how they played the game against the Spartans. They had a bad day shooting from three, finishing at just 27% from deep. The Ohio State Buckeyes shot it better from the free-throw line but missed the most critical one of the game.

With just 5.4 seconds remaining and the game tied, Devin Royal had a shot to win the game by converting on an and-one opportunity. If would have made that free throw, the Buckeyes would have won. Instead, the game went to overtime. Luckily, the Buckeyes won in double overtime 89-88.

The Ohio State basketball team finally wins a Big Ten road game

Ohio State had lost 21 of their last 22 road games coming in. That's not the kind of resume that you want as a team. Yet, the Buckeyes were able to come back and win this one, thanks to some stupidity from the Golden Gophers. Kadyn Betts forgot the score and fouled Juni Mobley while the Gophers were just up two. Mobley made both free throws and sent it to double overtime.

Ques Glover had two critical turnovers at the end of regulation that could have helped win the game for Ohio State, too. That's unacceptable from him, considering this is his sixth year of college basketball. Still, he had some good plays in both overtime periods, including making the free throws that sealed it.

The Buckeyes need to be better at winning in the Big Ten. This gives them their second win in the conference. If they can keep stacking wins, they might have a shot to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three seasons.
