The Ohio State basketball team is gearing up for another season under head coach Jake Deibler. Last season didn't go quite as planned, as they collapsed down the stretch to miss the NCAA Tournament. They have aspirations of reversing their fortunes this year.

In the preseason, the Ohio State Buckeyes didn't appear in the preseason polls. As Diebler prepares his team to embark on another season, everyone associated with Ohio State has positive energy heading into this season, including the social media team.

The social media team had a little fun at the expense of Kevin Durant. Durant has a reputation for being very online, especially searching for his own name. While Durant was responding to former Ohio State basketball player Mark Titus about something he said about Durant, he gave the social media team some gold.

Titus was talking on Mostly Sports with Mark Titus and Brandon Walker about how Durant needs to win a real ring, while tagging him in the post. Durant responded quickly, saying he loved the Ohio State brotherhood sarcastically. Ohio State's social media team quickly capitalized.

Any press is good press, right? The Ohio State Buckeyes are going to make sure that anything somewhat positive that he says is going to be put out there. This is a clever way for them to turn something sarcastic that Durant said into a marketing ploy.

Durant will be playing with a former Ohio State basketball player on his team in Houston. Jae'Sean Tate has been with the Rockets for quite a while now and will be playing alongside him. The Buckeyes haven't been putting a steady number of Buckeyes in the NBA in the last few years, though.

This was smart by the Buckeyes to do off the court. Now, they need to play smart on the court this season if they finally want to return to The Big Dance.
