The Ohio State basketball program has been looking for players to add to its 2026-27 roster. The Buckeyes are still trying to replace a lot of players who left from this past year's roster in the Transfer Portal. Jake Diebler has slowly been adding some players.
While the guard spot was hit especially hard, the Buckeyes have also been trying to add some size in the front court. Christoph Tilly is gone, so Ohio State needs some size at the center spot. While Tilly was decent for the Buckeyes, his inconsistency was an issue.
Ivan Njegovan is slated to be the starter right now. The Buckeyes also added Andrija Jelavic from Kentucky from the portal. He will likely be the backup. Now, Jake Diebler has added another foreign center who should help round out the center rotation next season.
Ohio State basketball team adds Vuk Lazarevic
According to Rivals, Ohio State has added 7'1 center Vuk Lazarevic to their roster. He comes from Serbia and should help the team with some rebounding based on his size. Rebounding was an issue for Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament, and Diebler is clearly looking to improve that aspect of the team.
It's hard to say just how good Lazarevic is because there isn't much film out there of his game. Regardless, he becomes the third center on the roster for Ohio State next season, which can't be a bad thing. Diebler has been active in the portal, and he continues to be late in the cycle.
Ohio State could stand to add one more guard before the season starts. They have a couple of open roster spots that they can still fill. It's unclear whether or not Diebler will be able to fill those spots with guys who can make an impact next season.
