Odds of the Ohio State football team landing this five-star recruit are dwindling

While the Buckeyes are doing everything they can to land him, their chances of being successful seem to be dwindling.

The Ohio State football program has just 13 commitments for the 2026 class so far. Despite that, they still have the third-best recruiting class in the country. They have a lot of big fish left in the pond that they are trying to reel in this summer, as well.

So far, no one has more five-star recruits in this class than the Buckeyes. Chris Henry Jr. and Blaine Bradford are both in the class and are locked in. Only Oregon has the same number of five-star recruits as the Ohio State Buckeyes at this point.

There is one big-time recruit that Ohio State is hoping to land who could really help them from day one. That is five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo. After losing out on Jackson Cantwell, they are trying to land Ojo to make up for that. Unfortunately, it looks like their chances are dwindling.

While Ojo has only sung Ohio State's praises, it doesn't look like it will be enough. At this point, Texas is still the favorite to land Ojo. Ojo stands at 6'6 and 275 pounds, and he's from the state of Texas. Just because the Longhorns are the favorites doesn't mean that all hope is lost, though.

The Ohio State Buckeyes will be hosting Ojo for a visit in a couple of weeks. That will be their best chance to get him to commit because he has visits scheduled with Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma in the three weekends following that visit. It's not ideal to have three visits scheduled after he's in Columbus.

Ojo should clearly be the top recruit on Ryan Day's board right now. He's someone who is good enough to start day one once he gets on campus. He would also be the first five-star offensive line recruit that the Buckeyes have landed in five years if he were to commit.

How much NIL money the Buckeyes are willing to commit could be a factor in landing him. Ojo is a physical freak. It would be massive if they could add him to this class.
