The Ohio State football program brought Earl Little Jr. in from the Transfer Portal in the offseason. Little Jr. played at Florida State for each of the last two seasons. He played his first year at Alabama, so this is now the third Power 4 school that Little Jr. has played for in his career.
Ryan Day called Little Jr. out as one of the players who has stood out so far in the Spring. Little Jr. is expected to be the starting nickel corner for the Buckeyes this season. He has mainly played safety, but the Buckeyes have Duke transfer Terry Moore and Jaylen McClain to fill those spots.
While talking to the media after practice, Little Jr. had a lot of praise for how the Ohio State Buckeyes do things. He took a shot at Bama when discussing just how competitive everything is with Ohio State, even during the offseason and the spring.
Ohio State DB Earl Little takes a shot at Alabama
Little Jr. specifically talked about the competition between players in the weight room, which is something he's not accustomed to.
Earl Little Jr. says the level of competition at Ohio State is different than it was at Alabama.

“At Alabama, we didn't compete in the weight room how we do here. Literally with everything you‘re doing at Ohio State, you’re gonna compete, and you have to be your best every single day."
Little Jr. knows that the Buckeyes try to bring the best out of the players in everything they do, even when they are in the weight room. It's clearly what gives them an edge and is part of the reason why the Buckeyes have had so much success over the last couple of decades.
The secondary is expected to be solid this season with Matt Patricia still calling the plays. Even with Caleb Downs leaving for the NFL, the rest of the secondary looks solid. The Buckeyes are hoping that Little Jr. is able to step into a new role seamlessly. So far, everything looks solid on that front.
