There is not another program in college football quite like Ohio State. When have the Buckeyes ever been bad? Exactly... Even in down years, this program is still a strong one. In this day and age of Ohio State football, the Buckeyes are perennial national championship contenders for two huge reasons. They recruit and develop better than pretty much anybody else. Ryan Day is at the top of his game.
So when four-star lineman Davis Seaman committed on Monday, he offered this as his reason for it.
"Ohio State is Ohio State. The draft just showed why Ohio State is Ohio State. It is what it is ... It's crazy. Their whole defense from 2024 went to the draft. That's pretty impressive. No other school is doing that."
He may play on the other side of the ball, but Seaman knows that Ohio State is a pro football factory.

4 Star Davis Seaman watched the Draft and saw all the OSU picks, he wants to be a Buckeye walking across that stage one day.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Seaman is the No. 15 player from Ohio, the No. 21 interior offensive lineman in the country, and the No. 404 overall recruit in the 2027 recruiting cycle. He may have had 22 other offers, but why would he go play for programs like Auburn, Cincinnati, Kentucky, or Illinois when the juggernaut Buckeyes are just down the road? He gets to play for his dream school!
By saying Ohio State is where players become professionals, Seaman is choosing the perfect place.
4-star Davis Seaman perfectly explains why he committed to Ohio State
This was a very astute point made by Seaman. The entire 2024 Ohio State starting defense got drafted. There are only a handful of programs across the Power Four who could realistically pull this offer. Georgia and Texas could do it in the SEC. Alabama could under a different head coach. Other places like Miami, Notre Dame, and Oregon could come close, but Ohio State takes the cake here.
For a guy who is coming in playing an unglamorous position like interior offensive line, Seaman must find ways to stand out. Even though Ohio State has not had the best track record in recent seasons at developing offensive line talent, they are regularly going up against some of the best defenses in the sport. Iron sharpens iron in Columbus. Seaman cannot wait to be a part of it playing for the Buckeyes.
When you have a head coach like Day who never takes his foot off the gas in recruitment, you will always have a great chance at contending for national championships. Ohio State won the first-ever College Football Playoff in 2014-15 and then the first in the 12-team format a decade later in 2024-25. While repeating may be hard, let's pray for some more playoff expansion, as that feels inevitable.
For now, Seaman knows exactly what he is signing up for to come play for his hometown Buckeyes.
