The Ohio State football program has tried to do things honorably over the years, sometimes to its detriment. They have cooperated way too much with the NCAA now that they promote rampant cheating. The Buckeyes should never do that again.
Michigan has made it its mission to lie and cheat at every possible opportunity. The NCAA even acknowledged that when they levied their punishments against the Wolverines. One national columnist thinks that the heaviest punishment that the program received was the blow to its reputation.
Stewart Mandel of The Athletic made sure that everyone knows that Michigan will forever be known as cheaters and that they acquired their national championship in 2023 on the heels of what will go down as one of the most widespread cheating scandals in sports.
National columnist flames TTUN for cheating against the Ohio State football program
Mandel did not hold back in his criticism of TTUN.
"“Everyone cheats” has long been a mantra in college athletics, but Michigan, more than most, has long sold integrity as core to its brand. Harbaugh, you’ll recall, was once hailed as the definitive “Michigan Man.”"
Mandel highlights how TTUN has a track record of cheating, especially under Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh now has a 14-year show cause because of transgressions that happened under his watch.
As Mandel notes, Harbaugh comes out as the biggest hypocrite of all time.
"There’s no official criteria that makes a “Michigan Man,” besides having played or coached at Michigan, but Harbaugh himself tried to define it at his news conference after winning the national championship."
“Doing something that’s bigger than for yourself,” he said. “Caring about somebody other than yourself. Never being outworked, doing right. You don’t lie, you don’t cheat, you don’t steal.” So much for that."
Never let a Michigan fan talk about integrity ever again, because no one in that university's athletic department has any. The Ohio State Buckeyes have the moral high ground over them, and they have the football high ground as the defending national champions.
The Buckeyes will now move on, and so will the fans. It's time to put this in the rear-view mirror and look ahead to what Ohio State will do on the field. Who will win certain positional battles? That's what matters now, because it's time to put the cheaters out of mind until November 29th, when the Buckeyes will put them in their place.
