Is he trying to imply that the Hurricanes are about to flip the Ohio State commit?

The Ohio State football program has started off the 2027 recruiting cycle. As of now, they have the third-best recruiting class in the country. There is still a lot of time left for them to further improve on that ranking, as it is very early in the cycle. A lot of that ranking is buoyed by DJ Jacobs.

Jacobs is the top recruit in the country at the defensive end position. He committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes last year, giving them the top recruit in the nation. He seemed to like what both Larry Johnson and Matt Patricia have planned for him. The return of Patricia should only make that stronger.

Despite his commitment to the Buckeyes, Jacobs decided to take a visit to Miami and visit the Hurricanes. Miami has been notorious over the last few years to drop massive bags of NIL money for recruits, something that Ohio State has been unwilling to do. Now, it may have happened again.

Ohio State football recruit could be in danger of flipping after latest visit

After the visit was finished, Miami's executive director sent out a cryptic social media post. He seemed to imply that Jacobs could be entertaining the idea of flipping his commitment.

Does this mean that Jacobs is going to flip to Miami? Not necessarily. Jacobs wasn't the only prospect who was visiting the Hurricanes on Thursday. This post could be about someone completely different. It also could be inaccurate, as we've seen many times before.

The Buckeyes have had some issues keeping top recruits at the beginning of recruiting cycles. Na'eem Offord flipped on Signing Day in 2024 after being committed to Ohio State all year long. Jacobs has a lot of time to make his decision between now and Signing Day.

This is not going to be the only program that tries to get Jacobs to flip. Other programs are likely going to offer him more money, as well. They just have to hope that their pitch is solid enough to keep him wanting to be in Columbus next season.
