The voice of the Ohio State Buckeyes has been Paul Keels for quite some time. Keels has called both Ohio State football and Ohio State basketball games on the radio since 1998. He has been the voice of many great moments from the Buckeyes on the football field and the basketball court.
Keels has been there for three national championships with the football team. He has called every single one of those games, becoming the voice to remember for a generation of Buckeye fans. On the basketball court, he has been part of three Final Fours, although one appearance was later vacated.
Throughout his career in the state of Ohio, Keels has done an excellent job matching the moment with his calls. Now, he is getting the ultimate award. Keels is now getting inducted into a hall of fame for the state of Ohio that is well-deserved.
Ohio State announcer Pal Keels to be inducted into Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame
Keels will be inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame. He is being inducted into the Outstanding Contributions to Basketball category, which is well deserved. Keels has been the voive of Buckeye basketball for almost 30 years.
Unfortunately for Keels, he hasn't been able to announce any Ohio State men's basketball tournament games in the last few seasons. That might change this year after the Buckeyes were able to take down the Boilermakers of Purdue on Sunday afternoon.
Not only is Keels a great broadcaster, but everyone who has crossed paths with him raves about the kind of man that he is. Keels deserves every bit of recognition that he gets for his broadcasting career. He is going to keep calling games for both the football and basketball programs for years to come.
The last thing Keels needs on his resume is being able to call a national championship victory for the basketball program. He might be waiting for a while for that, though.
