Key Ohio State football player just had surgery during the bye week
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has had a lot of random injuries this season. Cody Simon and Donovan Jackson missed the first game of the season. Carnell Tate was held out of a game too. The biggest injury so far this season was undoubtedly the injury to Josh Simmons. He is likely out for the year now.
Now that the Buckeyes lost to Oregon, they can't afford many more injuries. Simmons was one of their best offensive players. His loss is huge. Unfortunately, another Ohio State football player got hurt in the Oregon game. This player just had surgery during the bye week.
That player is running back Quinshon Judkins. According to 247Sports, he just had surgery on his hand. Having hand surgery in the middle of the season is certainly not ideal, but at least it happened during the bye week. Will it force him to miss any time?

It doesn't look like Judkins will miss any time because of the surgery. If you remember, Judkins fumbled the ball against Oregon for the first time this season. Perhaps this injury is what helped him lay the ball on the turf. Now, the issue has been fixed.
I'd be lying to you if I said that this didn't make me nervous. Judkins is more explosive than TreVeyon Henderson as a runner. He can take the ball to the house anytime he touches the ball. But protecting the ball is paramount, and if he can't do that, Henderson needs to be on the field more often.
It's good that he won't miss any time. I'm expecting him to be wearing some sort of cast when the Buckeyes take on Nebraska next weekend. Hopefully, the bye week gives his hand enough time to heal where it won't be a factor next Saturday.
