Jim Knowles using Ohio State football's natty run to motivate Penn State is comical

Jim Knowles learned quickly this week that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, and leaving Ohio State may not have been his best decision. It really isn't looking like the best decision, especially when he left the Buckeyes for Penn State and the Nittany Lions.

Penn State suffered it's first loss of the season at the hands of the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, while Ohio State moved to 4-0 on the season after a bye week. Now, Knowles is trying to rally his team, but he is doing it in the most comical way possible.

Knowles helped Ohio State win a National Championship and then jumped ship. Well, now he is trying to use what Ohio State did last year to help motivate his guys, which seems like the craziest thing ever.

Why would guys on the team want to hear about a rival and what they did? Head coach James Franklin even said he wanted Knowles to talk to not just the defense, but to the team as a whole about his experience of Ohio State losing twice in the Big Ten last season and the Buckeyes still winning it all in the end.

"I think that's an important message for our entire team," Franklin said.

What Knowles is talking about makes it sound like he thinks the Nittany Lions are going to lose another game this season, maybe even the game against Penn State later in the season. Knowles has to know that with the way the Buckeyes are playing this season, it is going to be a really tough game for the Nittany Lions.

It sounds like Knowles is just trying to tell his team it is okay to lose the big games, which seems to be the sorest of subjects for Penn State, as Franklin has won just four matchups against top-ranked teams.

Knowles can try to use his past success at Ohio State all he wants to motivate Penn State, but it will be comical either way.
