Last week was the first time that the Ohio State football team had to deal with any kind of bad weather. Against UCLA, it rained pretty hard in the second quarter. The good news with that is the Buckeyes looked completely unaffected. They kept running the offense like usual.

A 48-10 blowout win showed that the Ohio State Buckeyes aren't slowed down by rain. At least against an opponent like the Bruins, they aren't. For Senior Day against Rutgers, things might be a bit different than last week. Initially, the weather forecast looked dicey for Saturday afternoon.

Things would be better for Rutgers if they could get the same kind of rain that came down for a few minutes of the second quarter for the entire game. Instead, it looks like the rain will be out of Columbus before kickoff, and maybe before it's time to start tailgating, too.

Ohio State football vs. Rutgers weather forecast

When the game starts at noon, it will be a bit chilly. According to the Weather Channel, it will be just 47 degrees at kickoff. The good news for fans is that the sun will start to come out around that time, so it will feel a bit warmer than that in areas of the stadium that see the sun for the entire game.

The wind will not be a factor at all in this game. It will be blowing just 2-8 mph throughout the game, gusting to only 10 mph. As the game goes along, the wind will dissipate, as well. That means that the kicking game will not be affected at all by the weather.

Most importantly, there is no precipitation for this game. All of the rain should be gone by the time the sun comes up on Saturday morning. That is bad news for Rutgers, but great news for Ohio State. It should be a great day to celebrate the seniors in the Shoe.
