The Ohio State football program had a lot of upperclassmen who helped them make their run to the national championship. It was one of the greatest runs in all of college football. Now, a lot of those guys are headed into the NFL to begin their professional careers.
The Buckeyes are trying to find a way to replace all of those guys for the 2025 season. Ohio State is replacing eight starters on defense and seven on offense. That's a lot of guys who were really valuable to the Ohio State Buckeyes and will now be valuable to NFL Teams.
How many of these guys will end up getting drafted? Will this be the most Buckeyes that have ever been drafted? How many of them will go in the first round? With the NFL Draft just a couple of weeks away, we attempt to answer these questions.
How many Ohio State football players will get drafted?
There could be upwards of 15 players drafted for the Buckeyes this year. All of their starters could reasonably find homes in the NFL when it's all said and done. It wouldn't be surprising if they did considering how talented this team was when last year started.
Despite the amount of talent that the Buckeyes have, they might only have two or three guys drafted in the first round. Josh Simmons is the only sure-fire first-round pick from this group. Emeka Egbuka has a chance, as does Tyliek Williams. Those are the only three guys who have a real shot.
This could end up being the most Ohio State football players who get drafted in a single draft. That's how deep this class of draftees is for the Buckeyes. It would certainly be a great recruiting tool for them to use in the future.
