There have been more than a few former Ohio State football players to get into coaching over the last few years. Brian Hartline and James Laurinaitis are both on staff with the Buckeyes after donning the Scarlet and Gray. Luke Fickell coached at Ohio State and is now the head coach at Wisconsin.

Ohio State does a good job of not just preparing players for the NFL, but also for life after the NFL. These guys have used their skills to transition into coaching at the collegiate level. Another former Buckeye player has decided to do the same thing after almost two decades since he took his last snap with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Former Ohio State receiver Santonio Holmes has now started his career as a coach. He is the new wide receivers coach at Central State. Holmes was a first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers and was the Super Bowl MVP of Super Bowl XLIII after an amazing toe-tapping catch to win the game.

Holmes last played in the NFL back in 2014 for the Chicago Bears. He needed to mature a little bit following his NFL career, and it seems that he has done so. Now, he will try to help wide receivers at Central State develop into the best receivers that they can be.

As far as qualifications go, Holmes knows what it takes to become a first-round wide receiver and a Super Bowl champion. That's a pretty strong resume as he starts out his collegiate coaching career. He's hoping to work his way up the ladder and move up to a higher level of college football.

Holmes was more than just a dynamic receiver while he was at Ohio State. He was also a great returner and was able to take it to the house anytime he touched the football.
