The Ohio State football program has had plenty of great wide receivers while Brian Hartline was coaching for them. While he was with the Buckeyes, Hartline was the ultimate recruiter. That is what he got the most attention for, but he also developed receivers, too.
K.J. Hill is one of the receivers he developed. By the time Hill was finished with his tenure playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes, he was the all-time receptions leader for the Buckeyes. He was a solid player during his career who was well-respected in the locker room.
Hill was not able to make a career out of playing football once he was finished at Ohio State. Now, he has turned his eyes to coaching. Hartline has decided to bring him on staff with him at USF, and Hill is now listed as an offensive analyst for the Bulls heading into the 2026 season.
Former Ohio State receiver K.J. Hill gets a job with Brian Hartline
Hill is listed on USF's website as an offensive analyst for the wide receivers. He is just 28 years old, so he can still relate to the players who are coming through the program right now. As the all-time receptions leader for a program like Ohio State, he has a wealth of experience to draw from.
Hartline needs someone whom he can trust to help work with the receivers. Hill was a very smart player, and Hartline believes he can help his Bulls improve on that front. Hill doesn't have any previous coaching experience, so this is a good way for him to get his feet wet.
Former Buckeyes are all over the coaching ranks, including one who might get a look at Ohio State's vacant OC job. Playing for the Buckeyes certainly helps them get prepared for the NFL, as well as future coaching opportunities once their playing days are finally over.
