The Ohio State football program usually doesn't have a large churn year-to-year with its roster. Unlike other programs, the Buckeyes don't have a ton of players immediately enter the portal once the season ends. In fact, they only have one player who has declared for the Transfer Portal so far.

Part of that is because of the new era of NIL. Players are able to be paid even if they aren't seeing the field as much as they would hope. Another reason why players don't flock to the portal is because of the type of players Ryan Day recruits coming out of high school.

Of course, that doesn't mean that everyone stays with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Former Ohio State receiver Noah Rogers transferred from the program after the 2023 season, after not seeing any offensive snaps. Now, he has hopped into the portal for the second time.

Rogers spent the last two seasons playing for the NC State Wolfpack. In those two seasons, he caught 68 passes for 919 yards and three touchdowns. He certainly wasn't the top option for the Wolfpack. Quite frankly, he wasn't even the second option for them, either.

Now, Rogers has decided to look around at his options. He clearly would like to be more involved in the offensive game plan for whichever program he chooses once the portal opens at the beginning of January. He did make the right decision transferring from Ohio State, though.

With how many great receivers the Buckeyes have on the roster, Rogers was going to get passed up on the depth chart anyway. That's not to say he isn't a good player, because he is. Rogers just isn't good enough to be a top-three option at a P4 program.

Rogers will still have two years of eligibility remaining when he finds his new home.
