There has been a lot of change to the Ohio State football team's coaching staff this year. They have had to replace several critical members of the staff after winning a national championship. Replacing an offensive coordinator, a defensive coordinator, and an offensive line coach is not easy.
While most of the dust has settled around the coaching staff, there is still one big issue that needs to be addressed. Defensive line coach Larry Johnson is still contemplating his future. There's a chance that he decides to retire before this season starts, but he hasn't decided yet.
With just a couple of weeks before Spring ball starts, Johnson needs to make a decision soon. He has been a really good coach for a long time. He got a comment of support from one of his former players who was at the NFL Combine on Wednesday.
Former Ohio State football player Jack Sawyer praises Larry Johnson
Former defensive end Jack Sawyer had only good things to say about Johnson while he was talking to the media at the NFL Combine. Sawyer and fellow DE J.T. Tuimoloau are the last two five-star recruits that Johnson has been able to land.

Despite his age, Sawyer thinks that Johnson is still at the top of his game. It's hard to tell if that is true based on what happened this past season. It seemed once Jim Knowles finally was able to get the defensive line to do what he wanted instead of what Johnson wanted, that's when the defense became the elite unit they were supposed to be.
Sawyer came to Ohio State in part because of Johnson. He recruited him to Columbus and told him that he could develop him. While Sawyer didn't really start becoming a dominant force until last in his senior year, he eventually got there. Now, Sawyer could be a second-round pick.
If Johnson does come back, it will be just for one year. Whatever the decision ends up being, he needs to make it quickly and keep holding the Buckeyes hostage. They need to be able to know what's going on.
