Former Ohio State football player Terry McLauin has been one of the best players for the Washington Commanders since he was drafted by them. No matter who his quarterback has been, he has been able to produce. Yet, he does not have a new contract after this season.

McLaurin has been trying to get a new contract since before offseason workouts, and has not gotten anywhere. In fact, the former Buckeye recently detailed the process that he has been going through with the Commanders, or better yet, the lack of any progress.

Despite being one of the most productive receivers in the NFL, McLaurin claims that he hasn't heard from the Commanders in over a month as they try to get a new contract on the books. For a franchise that has a young quarterback, you would think they would be in more of a hurry to get something done.

Former Ohio State football player Terry McLaurin details frustration with Commanders

When McLaurin was with the Ohio State Buckeyes, he was one of the most underrated guys on the field. He was always open, was an excellent blocker, and a very good special teams player. Quite frankly, he did everything that the Buckeyes asked him to do.

He has done a lot of the same things while in Washington, and has even improved as a receiver since entering the NFL. All McLaurin wants is to be compensated for the production he has given them and will continue to give them now that they finally have a decent quarterback.

Last season was the best season of McLaurin's career. He had 82 catches for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns. It was also the first time that he has played for a quarterback who is good enough to make a future Pro Bowl. He's clearly Jayden McDaniels' favorite target.

If this doesn't get resolved soon, McLaurin could ask for a trade. That would be a nightmare scenario for the Commanders, considering he is by far their best offensive weapon.
