Julian Fleming joined the Ohio State football program as a five-star recruit back in the 2019 season. He was expected to become the next great Ohio State receiver and help the Buckeyes in the passing game. He was the start of the Buckeyes landing five-star receiver recruits every season.
Unfortunately, he was never quite able to live up to the hype. Injuries robbed him of what could have been a really good collegiate career. He ended up transferring from the Buckeyes and played his final season with Penn State last season before signing with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent.
Fleming has always been a positive guy who his teammates love. All of his Ohio State teammates knew what he went through with his injuries and how hard he tried to get himself right. There was unfortunate news later on Saturday night that he was involved in a serious ATV crash.
Former Ohio State football player Julian Fleming involved in a deadly ATV crash
Reports have emerged that Fleming was involved in an ATV crash. He sustained serious injuries, while his girlfriend, Alyssa Boyd, was sadly killed. Neither Fleming nor Boyd was wearing any protective gear while they were riding the ATV, leading to these injuries being sustained.
This is a truly tragic event. It shows just how dangerous ATVs can be when people don't take the proper precautions. Brian Hartline had an ATV accident a couple of years ago in which he sustained injuries, and he was lucky that it wasn't any worse than that.
Fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes will certainly have Fleming in their thoughts. This is a terrible situation, and we hope that Fleming makes a full recovery. His girlfriend will certainly be in people's thoughts, as well. It's a life taken way too soon.
