Former Ohio State football player Justin Fields has had a whirlwind NFL career. When he was with the Buckeyes, he was one of the best players in the country. He was a Heisman Finalist in 2019 and also helped lead the Ohio State Buckeyes to the National Championship Game in 2020.

Unfortunately, the Buckeyes lost that game against Alabama. After that, he was a first-round pick of the Chicago Bears. His time in Chicago didn't end well, and he was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last season, he started the year as the starter for the New York Jets.

Last year was likely the last chance that he had to show that he could lead a franchise. Fields ended up getting benched at the end of the season for poor play, and now he is on the move again. He has now been traded to the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Fields has been traded to the Chiefs in exchange for a sixth-round pick. Fields will get the bulk of the first-team reps during training camp as Patrick Mahomes continues to recover from a torn ACL that he suffered in December.

Mahomes might not be ready for the start of the season, which means that Fields has an opportunity to start the season as the top dog. He likely would only play a couple of weeks, and then he would be in a backup role for the rest of the year. Fields' time as a true starter is likely done.

Although, Fields could light it up in the weeks that he is able to start, and that could allow him to get another opportunity to start for another team. He is one of the most dangerous runners in the league from the quarterback position, which is not something Kansas City usually has experience with.

This is the last chance Fields has to really show he can start in the NFL.
