Former Ohio State football player gets suspended yet again
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program has a tradition of producing some of the best receivers in the country. That is especially true in the last decade or so. Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Marvin Harrison Jr. were all taken in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Three of those guys also played with Jameson Williams. Williams played with the Buckeyes for two seasons. His biggest moment was catching a long touchdown from Justin Fields in the 2020 Sugar Bowl against Clemson. That was the biggest moment of his Ohio State football career.
After his sophomore season, he transferred to Alabama so he could have more playing time. He played well for the Crimson Tide and played for a national championship. He was a first-round pick of the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, he can't stop getting in trouble.
Former Ohio State football player Jameson Williams gets suspended again
Heading into his second season, Williams was suspended for violating the NFL's gambling policy. He ended up getting suspended for six games. Despite the NFL repeatedly telling players how to not break that rule, he was one of them who broke the rule. Now, he's suspended again.
Williams has been suspended for two games for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy. It's the second time in just three seasons that he's been suspended. It seems like he can't stop getting in trouble. This is a troubling pattern for him so far.
Williams is very young and he still has a lot to learn about being a pro. The former Buckeye needs to surround himself with people who can keep him from getting in trouble. There are worse things he could be getting in trouble for, but he's hurting his team by getting suspended.
Hopefully, this is the last time that Williams gets in trouble with the league.
