The Ohio State football program was undefeated against Michigan under Urban Meyer's direction. While he was leading the program, he went 7-0 against TTUN. It's the most incredible run that an Ohio State coach has had against the Wolverines. It was because he understood the rivalry.

Meyer grew up in Ashtabula, Ohio. He knew what the rivalry meant and grew up a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He hated Michigan from the moment that he was born, but he respected them. While he was the head coach of the Buckeyes, he had an insane level of detail about what they were doing.

Former Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer reveals insane recruiting board he had for TTUN

Meyer didn't just have a recruiting board for his Ohio State teams, but he had one for who Michigan was recruiting as well. He revealed that insane detail on The Triple Option Podcast.

"I told you that we had a Wolverine board on the room, on a separate board in the recruiting war room. Every day I checked, and I wanted to see, it was updated daily. Who are they recruiting, and who are they getting, and why did they beat us on that player, if they did? And that was a bad day for that assistant coach if we didn't know about that player, but it didn't happen very often."

Meyer clearly wanted to make sure that he knew exactly what Michigan was doing at all times. It's how he was able to create an edge over his rival. That level of detail is part of the reason why Meyer didn't lose to Michigan while he was leading the Buckeyes.

Ryan Day doesn't seem to have the same level of detail. He was able to win the national championship last season, which might help him get over his Michigan problem. He will be favored again to beat TTUN this season, even though the Buckeyes have now lost four straight to them.

Meyer had a level of craziness, in a good way, that was unsustainable. That led to stress headaches that eventually led him to retire from Ohio State.
