The Ohio State basketball program is going to have a full reset next season after another disappointing year. It was the third straight year that the Buckeyes missed out on the NCAA Tournament, and a lot of it was because of poor use of the transfer portal.
Jake Diebler did a really bad job of identifying talent that was going to help the Buckeyes last year. He brought in five transfers, and only one of them was a good contributor. Three of them have already transferred back out of the program, indicating that it clearly didn't work.
One of those players to enter the transfer portal was center Aaron Bradshaw. He spent just one year with the Ohio State Buckeyes before entering the transfer portal, just as he did at Kentucky. Bradshaw has announced where his third school in three years will be.
Former Ohio State basketball player finds a new home
Bradshaw will be playing at Memphis next season. The Tigers become the third home for him, and it's a little surprising that he's playing at a school that plays such high-level basketball. Bradshaw was wildly ineffective for the Buckeyes in his one year in Columbus.
In his single season with Ohio State, he averaged under three rebounds per game as a seven-foot center. That is not going to get it done. It'll be interesting to see what his NIL compensation will be from Memphis, because it still might be too much based on his prior production.
Ohio State is still hoping to add a few more players from the transfer portal. They still have a lot of holes to fill on the roster, so it's unclear how many of those holes the Buckeyes will actually be able to fill before the season starts.
Bradshaw is still hoping to live up to his five-star billing out of high school.
