Former Michigan star has nothing but praise for Julian Sayin after two starts

Any sort of compliment from a former Michigan player seems like something that has to mean a lot.

Ohio State starting quarterback Julian Sayin now has two games under his career belt, one against the former No. 1 team in the country, and another against a team he easily should have run over. While Sayin looked a little shaky in his first start, he looked like a seasoned pro in his second start.

Against Grambling State, Sayin was 18-for-19 with 306 yards, four touchdowns, and just one interception. That is a big number to put up, especially with completing his first 18 passes of the game. Even former Michigan tight end Jake Butt had some nice things to say about the young quarterback’s performance.

“He has like an Olympic-acher level of accuracy, it's the ball placement," Butt said on Big Ten Network. "He has a back-shoulder fade touchdown to Carnell Tate down in the red zone that was like a hand-delivered package right up to his receiver.

Of course, any sort of praise from a former Michigan player has to mean a lot because everyone knows about much Ohio State and the Wolverines hate each other. However, Butt has a lot of really great things to say about Sayin adn his performance against Grambling State.

Butt said that even though Sayin looked a little rough against Texas, Ohio State knew how to prepare him for the rest of the season and let him loose against Grambling State. Sayin truly did everything that could have been asked of him in that game and even more with his performance.

Sayin will now face Ohio this weekend before diving into Big Ten play, where he will certainly be challenged every week. However, if he can keep his composure and remember how he performed last week, he could have a chance at surprising a lot of teams in the Big Ten that are coming for the Buckeyes. As reigning National Champions, they have a very large target on their back, and Sayin is hoping to avoid any sort of hit.
