Players transfer from the Ohio State football program all the time. With the Transfer Portal now a thing, players use it to seek out more playing time and better situations. Most of the time, those players still retain some love for the Buckeyes, even though they leave.
Jameson Williams is not one of those players. When he left Ohio State for Alabama, he took some unprompted shots at Ohio State and its fans. It seemed strange for him to have so much hate in his heart for the Ohio State Buckeyes, which gave him his start in college football.
Williams now plays for the Detroit Lions after being a first-round pick back in 2022. He already fully considers himself a member of the Crimson Tide, but now he has fully completed his betrayal of the Buckeyes after his Final Four rooting interest was revealed.
Former Ohio State receiver Jameson Williams turns full heel against the Buckeyes
The Detroit Lions social media team sent direct messages to certain players on the Lions, asking who they were rooting for in the Final Four. Williams completed his full heel turn against the Buckeyes by saying he is rooting for Michigan, which is something no Buckeye would ever do.
While Williams now plays in the state of Michigan, he should never want to actively root for TTUN if he still has any shred of love for the Buckeyes left in his body. It seems that he no longer does, which is sad for a former receiver who really showed a lot of promise when he was on campus.
Ohio State fans might start actively rooting against him now, if they haven't already. It's clear that Williams doesn't care. He needs to focus on not getting in trouble with the NFL for gambling anymore. Besides, Ohio State fans have plenty of other receivers they can root for at the next level.
