The Ohio State football program has had a banner 2026 draft. They have had five players taken in the first 36 picks of the draft. All of those guys were taken before a single Michigan player was taken, as well. Quite frankly, the entire draft has been an advertisement for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State will have quite a few players taken by the time the end of the weekend rolls around. Ryan Day is happy all of those players have played well enough to realize their childhood dreams. However, one player was thought to be the son of an all-time great, when he is not.

While it has been a banner draft so far for the Buckeyes, it has not been for Mike Greenberg. During the early part of the second round, the Cleveland Browns took their second receiver of the draft when they selected Denzel Boston. Greenberg thought he was the son of David Boston. He is not.

Mike Greenberg makes hilarious Ohio State-related mistake

Greenberg claimed that Denzel Boston is the son of David Boston, who is the second-leading receiver in Ohio State history. He was a first-round pick back in the 90s and is perhaps one of the most underrated Buckeyes in Ohio State football history.

But David has no relation to Denzel. This is what Greenberg had to say in his gaffe.

"There you go, Mel (Kiper). That's another player's name you were waiting to hear called. You remember his dad, David Boston, first-round pick out of Ohio State in 1999."

For someone who is as knowledgeable about sports as Greenberg is, it's shocking that he made this mistake. This is debunked by a quick Google search, and should have been checked hours before the draft started on Friday. Unless a producer spoke it in his ear, this is a horrendous mistake.

Boston might have a good career for the Browns. The Buckeyes were able to shut him down last season when the Washington Huskies faced them, though. That would never have happened to David Boston.
