Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka is hoping to continue some Ohio State football history. Everyone knows the history of success that the program has in getting wide receivers drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft. Egbuka is looking to continue that on Thursday night.
Egbuka has a chance to continue a trend that no other program has been able to match. He has a chance to become the sixth former Ohio State receiver to be drafted in the first round since 2021. What's more is that all six of those receivers were in the same receiver room in 2021.
Ohio State football player Emeka Egbuka can set some program history
During the Spring of 2021, the Buckeyes had Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Egbuka all on the team. All of the other five receivers were taken in the first round, and Egbuka has that opportunity on Thursday.

If Egbuka is going to be drafted in the first round, it likely will come late. Teams like the Texans, Rams, and Bills have all been linked to wide receivers in recent mock drafts. Egbuka would certainly fit well on any of those rosters. Egbuka is good enough to make an immediate impact as a rookie.
Ohio State would love to have Egbuka be drafted in the first round. It would reinforce that the Ohio State Buckeyes are the best place to develop receivers for the NFL. It would extend their first-round drafting streak as well, which Carnell Tate will try to extend next year if Egbuka is able to get that done.
There could be as many as 15 Buckeyes that get drafted over the course of the weekend. If that happens, they would tie a record for most players from a single school drafted in one draft.
