The Ohio State football program is one of the best teams year in and year out in college football. They continue to show how good a program they are, no matter what season it is. They are one of the few recession-proof teams in the country. Every year, it seems they are competing for a College Football Playoff spot.
Last year was no different. They started the year 12-0, but they were not able to finish it out in the CFP, as they fell to the Hurricanes in the Cotton Bowl. This year, they are expected to compete for a national championship again. The new edition of the college football game is showing that again.
College Football 27 will come out at the beginning of July. Ahead of that release date, they have been releasing the ratings of the offenses and defenses of the best teams in the game. EA Sports once again loves Ohio State, as they have it rated as the second-best team in the game overall.

According to the early release, the Ohio State Buckeyes have a 90 overall. That puts them as the second-best team in the game by overall rating, only behind the Ducks of Oregon. Ohio State also has the top-rated offense in the game, which makes sense with the team they have returning.
Defensively, Ohio State is rated as the seventh-best unit. As far as the environment goes, the Buckeyes have the second-best home-field advantage. Only Death Valley in LSU is rated as a harder place to play. The Buckeyes showed how hard it is to play in the Shoe last year by winning all of their home games.
Ohio State is likely to prove these ratings correct by the time the Buckeyes have their season end. They should be in competition for one of the top seeds when the College Football Playoff begins. They have a lot of returning talent, even though they also lost a lot.

EA Sports loves Ohio State every year, as they should. In each of the editions since the game came back, they have had the Buckeyes rated as one of the best teams. They have deserved it every time, and this year is going to be no different. They have an offense that can score 50 points every time it takes the field.
With Julian Sayin returning for his second year as a starter, and Jeremiah Smith in his final year, the Buckeyes should have a great chance to run away from inferior competition. While the schedule is harder this year, it wouldn't be shocking to see them win 11 games.
Of course, Ohio State is focused on winning more than that. They want to win 12 in the regular season before winning four more games en route to winning a national championship. That is the ultimate goal.
