The Ohio State football program is trying to keep its 2026 recruiting class strong. They have done a good job getting some quality prospects very early in the recruiting cycle. Ohio State has a top-three class in the country while still only having 11 commitments for the class so far.

One position they are looking to get better at in this class is cornerback. They only have one corner for this class so far, but are hoping to get Elbert Hill, the top corner in the state of Ohio. For a while, he was predicted to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but things may have changed.

Recently, Hill was predicted to flip over to USC and commit to the Trojans. Despite this recent revelation, Hill has still decided to schedule an official visit to Columbus to visit the Buckeyes. Perhaps things aren't as set in stone as they seemed to be.

Elbert Hill schedules an official visit with the Ohio State football team

Hill has scheduled a visit to Ohio State at the end of May. That means that the Buckeyes have to keep him interested until then, so they can get him on campus to make a more impassioned pitch to him. Hill has several official visits scheduled for the next couple of months to various schools.

If Ohio State is able to change his mind back, that would be great. They would love to get the top corner in the state. Hill is very talented, even if he just stands at 5'10 and 175 pounds. Ohio State is going to keep pursuing him until he officially signs somewhere else.

Tim Walton has proven that he is a really solid recruiter. It wouldn't be surprising if he were able to swing Hill back towards the Buckeyes. Hill is someone who has options, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with his recruitment.
