Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is known for bringing in top-of-the-line football recruits to come play for Ohio State, and with the recent news of one recruit, that still seems to hold true. Day has consistently put together amazing recruiting classes after amazing recruiting classes to continuously keep Ohio State as one of the premier programs in all of college football.

SportsCenter Next, an official ESPN hub for all things high school and youth sports-related, just released its updated rankings for the SC Next Jr. 300. One Ohio State recruit found himself moving up on that list in a way that will make both him and the Buckeyes very happy.

Jamier Brown is moving up in the SC Next Jr. 300 rankings

Jamier Brown is a five-star recruit according to 247Sports Composite and is already committed to Ohio State, even in the Class of 2027. It shows that Brown has actually been committed since November 2024 to the Buckeyes, and to be committed for that long and that early, there doesn't feel like there is anything anyone could do to flip him.

Brown saw his ranking move up in the SC Next 300 Jr. rankings as he is now the No. 2 overall recruit in the rankings and the No. 1 wide receiver. According to 247Sports Composite, Brown is the No. 6 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 1 wide receiver in his class, and the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio.

It seems like Ohio State could have another wide receiver like Jeremiah Smith on its hands with Brown's route-running ability, as well as speed and quickness off the line. This will be a huge boost for the Buckeyes, who could be losing Smith in a season or two to head to the NFL.
