The Ohio State football team got some disappointing 5-star news over the weekend, with the nation's No. 1 2027 defensive lineman Jalen Brewster announcing in favor of Texas Tech. Yeah, that's a bummer, but there are other elite targets Ryan Day has a close eye on.
The long list for the '27 haul includes standout running back David Gabriel Georges, who is without question a big play waiting to happen. This past weekend, Gabriel Georges once again put on a show for the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn.
5-star DL spurns Ohio State football but fans can't be mad at Ross Bjork for this one
During that game, plenty of people couldn't help but notice a fashion decision the youngster made. That decision was to rock Ohio State gloves for his game. Yeah, that might not seem like a major deal, but in today's recruiting world, it sure lets everyone know that Ohio State is certainly a player in his process moving forward:

Ohio State football is making 5-star RB David Gabriel Georges a top priority
The Buckeyes obviously aren't the only top program working to turn his head, as in-state Tennessee is surely making him a priority. Tennessee has 5-star offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda helping out with the recruiting efforts there - Osenda is Knoxville-bound as a member of the 2026 class.
Ohio State is going to have a massive say in things here, though, as the '27 product is probably taking a close look at what freshmen are able to get done in Brian Hartline's offense. Running back Bo Jackson continues to leave people favorably impressed with the way he runs the ball with so much passion and power.
The same can be said for Gabriel Georges, who seems to go viral each weekend because of the way he makes magic happen. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's ranked five stars and the No. 2 running back in the country. With him only being a junior, there's no rush for him to make a final college decision, but Ohio State is going to be among his top choices until he ultimately decides to shut things down.
