These Ohio State football players could have their eyes on the Transfer Portal before the 2025 season has even started.

2. Miles Lockhart

Cornerback Miles Lockhart is the next guy on this list who could end up transferring. He's a cornerback who was a former four-star recruit out of the state of Arizona. He is a sophomore in a very competitive room. Cornerback is one of the most competitive positions that the Buckeyes have.

Lockhart hasn't really gotten any meaningful playing time so far. He has too many talented cornerbacks in front of him, including this season. Davison Igbinosun and Jermaine Mathews Jr. will be starting on the outside, while Lorenzo Styles will be the nickel corner.

Those aren't the only guys that Lockhart is fighting with for playing time. Aaron Scott and Bryce West are also in front of him. Scott spent most of last year injured, so he wasn't able to contribute much to the team. That also doesn't include five-star freshman Devin Sanchez.

Sanchez was the top cornerback recruit in the 2025 recruiting class, and he is good enough to certainly warrant some playing time right away. That could leave Lockhart out of luck for some playing time. He could struggle to see the field unless he has a really solid Fall camp.

The final player on this list is someone who actually has entered the portal before but ultimately decided to take his name out.
