9. Nick Bosa

In recent years, the Ohio State football team has been known for putting some great defensive ends into the NFL. Nick Bosa might be the best of them. It’s still unfortunate we never got to see him have a full junior season with the Buckeyes after he suffered that core injury in 2018.

After that injury against TCU, Bosa decided to sit out the rest of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft. It’s hard to say that was the wrong decision based on how his career has gone so far. He was the second overall pick in the Draft by the 49ers and has dominated the league.

Bosa was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2019 after he recorded 47 tackles, 9 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Last year was his best season though as he won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts.

Last year, he had 51 tackles and a whopping 18.5 sacks, which led the league. He also forced two fumbles and had 19 tackles for loss. Quite frankly, he was a dominating force up front and it seemed like he was in the backfield every single pass play.

This is just Bosa’s fifth year in the league. 13 games in, he has 9.5 sacks again. If he keeps up playing at this pace, he will be a no-doubt Hall of Famer. He’s still so young and has a lot of football ahead of him so he can keep adding to these absurd numbers.

This is more of a projection than anything else. He’s projected to be one of the best 49ers defenders ever, and that’s saying something. That’s a franchise with a ton of great history. The next player on our list is done playing but did some really great things at the next level.
