Ohio State Football: Marvin Harrison Jr. keeps door open to returning
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has lost three consecutive games to TTUN. That also means that they have not had the opportunity to win the Big Ten for three straight years as well. Those three years really make Marvin Harrison Jr., the best player the Buckeyes have, mad.
Harrison Jr. has yet to beat TTUN. It is presumed that his Ohio State football career is over considering he is projected to be a top-three pick in next year’s NFL Draft. It wouldn’t make sense for him to risk injury and come back to play for the Buckeyes for his senior year.
Apparently, that’s something actually on the table for Harrison Jr. He told the media that his goals were not met by losing to TTUN and not winning the Big Ten and that it would be a really tough pill to swallow to leave Ohio State before achieving those goals.
Those comments suggest that Harrison Jr. could come back for one last ride. He doesn’t need the NFL money considering his dad played in the league for 10+ years. He can make a ton of NIL money if he comes back. Is it really that crazy for him to return to Columbus?
Yes, it is. This would be the most shocking thing I’ve seen in years if he comes back. There is zero reason to risk an injury when he would be at worst a top-five pick. He should leave now while his value is at its highest so that he can have a long and illustrious NFL career.
Harrison Jr. said that he’s planning on playing in the Cotton Bowl. Even that surprises me. I assumed he would opt out to protect himself from injury. I still think he might. But Ohio State football fans shouldn’t get their hopes up that he comes back for a final season.
He’s been nothing but spectacular on and off the field at Ohio State. I can’t wait to watch him at the next level.
