Ohio State Football bowl game announced

The Ohio State football team ended up finishing seventh in the final College Football Playoff rankings. It was a disappointing finish to the season after they were undefeated up until they faced TTUN. Ryan Day has lost to them for three straight years.

While Ohio State’s finish to the end of the season was disappointing, they have a chance to end the season on a high note. Their bowl game has been announced and we know when they will play it as well. They won’t be going to the Orange Bowl as we originally thought.

Instead, the Buckeyes will be playing Missouri in the Cotton Bowl on December 29th. It’s still technically an NY6 game, but it’s got a lot less juice to it than some of the previous bowl games Ohio State has played under Ryan Day. Missouri is just fine as an opponent.

This will be the last time that the Buckeyes will have a chance to get a win this year. I fully expect them to be without plenty of players who decide to sit the game out and prepare for the NFL Draft. We could start to get some of those announcements as soon as this week.

I would expect both outside receivers to sit, as well as Denzel Burke, Tommy Eichenberg, and J.T. Tuimoloau. All of those guys are likely to declare for the Draft so they don’t want to risk injury. I can’t fault them for sitting if they aren’t going to play for a national title.

The Ohio State football team still has more talent than Missouri, so I expect them to win. Even so, it could be a competitive game in the first half. We’ll dive deeper into the game as the time gets a little closer. But right now, I think the Buckeyes will do well.
