Many after Saturday’s loss are calling for Ryan Day’s removal from the head coach position he currently has with the Ohio State football program. It makes sense as to why, he continues for the third year in a row can’t find a way to win at these big games. With a fanbase as big as Ohio State’s, you can’t lose your biggest game each and every year. Though people want him gone there can be some good with keeping him.

To start us off, after this much criticism, you figure if he keeps his job he will switch his coaching style to more aggression on 3rd and 4th downs. He can take what people say he needs to start doing in big games to start winning more games.

Another pro of keeping Ryan Day is that he can win games. His record is 56-7 out of the years he has been with the Ohio State football program. Day also led the Buckeyes to the playoffs 3 times, plus 2 Big 10 Championship wins.

A huge con that makes the people want Day out is the fact he can’t win big games. Over the past three years, the Buckeyes have been disappointed over and over again. Losing to Michigan three times, Clemson, Alabama, Oregon, and a heartbreaking loss to Georgia.

Another con of Ryan Day is his lack of trust in his quarterback. Throughout this season we’ve seen Day continue to not let McCord throw to the best wide receiver in the nation. Lacking trust in your very own quarterback is the worst thing you can do for your team. If this continues after they move on from McCord he could ruin a transfer quarterback they get and the commit Air Noland.

The thing about Ryan Day is that as of right now very few people still want him. At the end of the day, fans want to win championships and rivalry games. I think it’s in Ohio State’s best interest to move on and let Ryan Day find a new team. As for who they should get instead, there are tons of different answers. Bring back Urban Meyer or bring in a former player, those are just some of the many possibilities.
