Ohio State Football: What to be thankful for heading into The Game
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is still preparing for the biggest game of the season coming up on Saturday. The Game has more juice to it this year than normal with everything that has been going on off the field. As that preparation continues on this Thanksgiving, there is still plenty to be thankful for.
Ohio State is undefeated heading into this game. That’s something to be thankful for, especially after the Notre Dame game came down to the final play. They have a Heisman Trophy candidate at wide receiver. Be thankful for him now because he’s playing on Sundays next year.
This defense is certainly something to be thankful for, especially after the defenses the Ohio State football team has had over the past three seasons. This defense is the best one the Buckeyes have had since the 2019 season. They are the best pass defense in the country and allow the second-fewest points as well.
The continuing investigation into TTUN is something to be thankful for as well. As an Ohio State fan, that has given me joy for the last three weeks. Knowing they are going to get walloped after the season, even after Jim Harbaugh’s three-game suspension, is the gift that keeps on giving.
A Buckeye victory on Saturday afternoon would definitely be something to be thankful for. That would be the biggest win of the year and would put them in the College Football Playoffs. It would be a great Christmas gift too, although we are skipping holidays.
The Buckeyes will prepare this morning before having Thanksgiving with their families. After that, they will head to Ann Arbor for the game. Even though the Buckeyes are underdogs, Ohio State fans think that is perfectly fine. They will still win the game and end Michigan’s winning streak.
