Prediction No. 2): Ohio State’s defense suffocates Michigan’s running game.

One of the best moves that Ryan Day has made since being named head coach has been the hiring of Jim Knowles as defensive coordinator. And while the Buckeyes allowed some big plays in last year’s game, one has to wonder what would have been if Connor Stalions wasn’t going around and stealing the Buckeyes’ defensive signals.

Knowles has this defense playing outstanding right now, only allowing six total points in the past two games to Michigan State and Minnesota. Furthermore, he has gotten the most out of talented players Denzel Burke, Sonny Styles, and Jack Sawyer by putting them into great positions to be successful.

I really think after last season’s game, Knowles has been holding something special back this season for Michigan. He’s ready to prove that he is the best defensive coordinator in the country. And with Michigan’s clear lack of trust in J.J. McCarthy right now, I think Ohio State does everything in its power to limit Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards, and this Wolverine rushing attack.

I’m predicting that the Wolverines can’t get to 100 yards rushing on the ground as a team, on the way to a big defensive performance from this Ohio State football team.
