The Ohio State basketball team struggled with New Orleans earlier in the week. They were only up by six points at halftime in that game. Things were much different on Sunday against Western Michigan. It was a game that the Buckeyes never struggled in at any point.

It was a dominating performance by the Buckeyes. They had a 41-21 lead at halftime, so the game was never in doubt at any point. They ended up winning the game 73-56. It was a good game for the Buckeyes to have before they face Alabama within the next week. They are a really good non-conference team to face.

Jamison Battle and Bruce Thornton were the ones who really helped put the Buckeyes in front. They are the two best players that the Buckeyes have offensively, so it makes sense that they were the ones who helped lead the Ohio State basketball team to a victory.

Battle had 13 points and made three three-pointers. He is someone the Buckeyes are going to need to make outside shots if they are going to win games against good teams. Thronton added 12 points and also had 5 assists. As the point guard, he’s going to have to lead the team.

Winning this game gives Ohio State a 3-1 record on the season. They still have some work to do if they are going to be a good enough team to make the NCAA Tournament. Having convincing wins like this goes a long way to helping them confidently do so.

Ohio State still has work to do from deep and rebounding against good teams, but this is a step in the right direction. A win is a win and that’s all that matters. The next step is beating some good non-conference opponents before Big Ten play.
