3. The Ohio State football team must stay healthy

Perhaps the most important thing about this game, besides coming out with a win, of course, is staying healthy. The team has to come out clean and without any injuries. They already will be without Lathan Ransom for the rest of the regular season because of an injury.

Ransom is a big loss for The Game. Ohio State can’t afford another player of that caliber to get hurt against Minnesota. They already might hold out Tommy Eichenberg and Mike Hall because of that reason. Health is absolutely paramount heading into next week.

I’m not saying that the Buckeyes should just rest all of their starters before the game is well in hand. The number one concern is walking out of the Shoe with a win. But once the game is under control, get the starters out of there and let the backups get some minutes.

There is no sense in getting anyone hurt before the biggest game of the season. Personally, I do think Ohio State could play all of their backups and still beat Minnesota, albeit in a much closer game. Day knows his team and will keep his guys in until the job is done.

There’s no reason the Ohio State football team shouldn’t be able to get the win on Saturday afternoon. They should be undefeated and ready to take on Michigan next week.
