Jim Harbaugh will not coach against Ohio State Football team
By Ryan Stano
Just a few days ago, I wrote that it was likely that the Ohio State football team would still have to face Jim Harbaugh on the sidelines. This was because of the fact that the temporary restraining order he was seeking was likely to be granted before The Game. That has changed.
It was announced that Jim Harbaugh has agreed to accept his three-game suspension and will not be coaching this week against Maryland or next week against the Ohio State football team. It’s unclear what led to this decision, but he won’t be on the sidelines for the next two weeks.
I can only speculate as to why Harbaugh, after vigorously defending himself against these allegations and maintaining that Michigan did nothing wrong, has suddenly reversed course. My guess is that he saw what else the NCAA has in terms of evidence and decided he had no more moves left to play.
There are a lot of rumors out there as to what else might come out soon involving this investigation. I don’t want to get into those right now. What I will say is that it’s clear the NCAA has a mountain of evidence against the university and something big is coming.
We know that the NCAA takes forever to do its investigations, so it’s unclear as to when it will conclude and the penalties will be announced. Usually, these things take about a year. There was a report that it could be done as soon as December though, so we’ll just have to see.
As for Ohio State, this is big news. It means that if this gets into a close game, Sherrone Moore is going to have to make some tough decisions that could cost the team the game. He’s not used to having to make these decisions with this team.
Things just got more spicy for The Game.
