Ohio State Football: List of Buckeyes who could be honored at Senior Day
By Eric Boggs
This Saturday at Ohio Stadium, coaches, fans, and teammates will honor the Ohio State football seniors who will be playing in their final home game at the Horseshoe. It’s a surreal moment watching the men who we have cheered on for four or more seasons exit the locker room and run onto the field one by one for the last time.
This season, Buckeye fans will see a pretty large number make that track from the southeast corner to the home side of the field with flowers in hand to give to their mother before giving their parents and or family a hug. Ryan Day is also there to greet each player with a handshake and hug, offering one last word of encouragement and gratitude.
Given the NCAA’s change in eligibility rules due to the 2020 COVID season, some seniors will still have a year of eligibility remaining if they desire to stay for one more year. It is unclear who on the current roster might decide to take advantage of that rule at this time. Given that fact, here are the seniors who could possibly be playing in their final home game this Saturday:
Graduate seniors with no eligibility remaining:
WR Xavier Johnson
SAF Josh Proctor
OL Matthew Jones
QB Tristan Gebbia
Seniors who could choose to use another year of eligibility due to COVID if they desire to come back:
TE Cade Stover
LB Tommy Eichenberg
LB Steele Chambers
WR Julian Fleming
SAF Latham Ransom
LB Cody Simon
RD Chip Trayanum
TE Gee Scott Jr.
SAF Ja’Had Carter
OL Victor Cutler Jr.
OL Enokk Vimahi
DL Jaden McKenzie
When the final list of players who will be taking their senior walk is released, we will be sure to report on it.
