The Ohio State football team is less than two weeks away from the big showdown in Ann Arbor but first, they must get past the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

One more game stands in the way between the Ohio State football team and the Michigan Wolverines. The Minnesota Golden Gophers come to Ohio Stadium for a late afternoon kickoff in Columbus.

The P.J. Fleck-led Gophers come into the game with a record of 5-5, but they have lost their last two games played to Illinois and Purdue. The Gophers were embarrassed last weekend by the Boilermakers in a 19-point loss to possibly the worst team in the Big Ten.

Athan Kaliakmanis, the Gophers quarterback, has put up a solid season in his first year as a starter with 1,582 yards passing and 13 touchdowns. He threw for 292 yards and three scores in the loss last weekend.

Daniel Jackson is probably their most explosive playmaker as he has over 680 yards receiving on the season with 7 touchdowns, including a monster game against Purdue last week where he totaled 7 catches for 119 yards.

But overall, Ohio State is vastly superior and should handle business on Saturday. Here are three predictions for the game.

The Ohio State Football team has the best receiver in the country in Marvin Harrison Jr.

No. 1) Ohio State continues to feed Marv, on his way to becoming a Heisman finalist.

The Ohio State football team should have a representative in New York City for the Heisman ceremony. That player will be Marvin Harrison. With three touchdowns and 149 yards receiving last week, Harrison is currently on pace to etch his name with greatness. He, along with Oregon’s Bo Nix, Washington’s Micheal Pennix, and LSU’s Jayden Daniels are currently the betting favorites according to most outlets.

Another force-fed first half against Minnesota could catapult Harrison over those contenders and put him in prime position to win the trophy with a strong performance against Michigan in less than two weeks. I think Kyle McCord will look his way early and often as he puts up a stat line of six receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the first half as Ryan Day sits him for the rest of the game and gets him ready for Ann Arbor.
