Ohio State Football vs. Michigan State Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 11
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team returns to the friendly confines of the Shoe this week. Their next two games are at home. The first one is a night game this weekend against Michigan State in which the Buckeyes will wear their alternate all-gray uniforms.
Ohio State comes into this week’s game having beaten Rutgers 35-16 in what was a tough game in the first half. They will be looking to play better on offense to start against the Spartans, who are just 3-6 this year and have just one Big Ten win. That win happened last week after they beat Nebraska 20-17.
Ohio State football vs. Michigan State Odds, Spread, and Total
According to FanDuel, the Buckeyes currently sit at 31.5-point favorites. That is the highest spread they’ve had in any Big Ten game so far. That’s especially high for a team that hasn’t scored more than 28 points on offense in any of the last three games, but that tells you how bad Michigan State is.
The total for the game is 46.5. The total is so low because the Spartans have only scored 21+ points once since mid-September, and they lost that game. They just don’t have enough offensive firepower to keep up with the teams they have played this year in the Big Ten.
Ohio State football vs. Michigan State Key Players to Watch
TreVeyon Henderson is the man to watch for the Buckeyes. He’s been excellent the last two weeks since returning from injury. Last week against Rutgers, he accounted for about two-thirds of the offensive output for the Buckeyes. Expect a heavy dose of him again this week.
For the Spartans, Jaden Mangham is someone to watch. The defensive back has a whopping four interceptions so far this season. As we have seen in each of the last two weeks, Kyle McCord has had issues with turnovers. He needs to be very careful throwing the ball around Mangham.
Ohio State football vs. Michigan State Prediction and Pick
Michigan State is probably the second-worst team in the Big Ten behind Purdue. The Ohio State Buckeyes are the number-one team in the country. The talent disparity on the field is just too great for the Spartans to compete. Add the fact that this game is in the Shoe and you can see why that spread is so big.
I do think this is a blowout. Fans shouldn’t have to stress about this game as much as they have the last two weeks. I think the Buckeyes get it done 42-10.
